One of my recent film scores, for the film “Drop of Love,” directed by Golam Mustofa, has been accepted into the Park City Film Music Festival and will be screened on Tuesday, May 29th at 12:15 in Park City, Utah. This is a great festival with that concentrates on the use of music in film– and it’s an honor to have scored one of the films they’ve selected to screen.
I’ve written about 50 minutes of score for the film, and 4 original songs. Composer Jonathan Rabson has penned several original songs for the film as well. Plans are in the works now for a soundtrack release in the summer.
Film Synopsis: Joseph Bradley is a University of Toronto student majoring in Anthropology and Psychology. Enthusiastic about his field, he can’t wait to finish his final semester so that he can take a field trip to South Asia. He has accepted a job from an NGO to study the tribes and culture in Bangladesh. One wonderful day, Joe’s world turns upside down when he meets a young Bangladeshi girl, Afrin, at a beach-side park in Toronto. The two become captivated walking on the cloud of dreams having breathtaking conversations on Anthropology, Psychology, Toronto, Bengali culture, and tribal lives in Bengals. But beneath the polite, intellectual conversation, Joe feels that a much deeper connection is taking place. His imagination of the situation explodes, even beyond what might seem warranted. Joe’s human feelings become a metaphor for a “Drop of Love” which can be in anyone’s heart. “A Drop of Love” is adapted from a true story of a Bangladeshi couple living in North America.
